#8sunday April 05, 2015 WIP working title: Scott’s Story

Every Sunday Weekend Writing Warriors invites writers (of all shapes and sizes) to submit 8 sentences of a work or work in progress. It is a great way to put yourself out there and to connect with a vibrant and supportive community of other writers. This is my submission.

These are the opening lines to one of my (as yet untitled) works in progress. 

#8sunday April 05, 2015 WIP working title: Scott’s Story

The small landing craft rattled through the atmosphere. No frills, no telemetry. Just a container designed to get the occupants to and from landside in more or less one piece.

She wasn’t sure if she should be insulted or relieved by the lack of ceremony with which she was about to be unleashed on the small dusty planet below.

Her music case was bouncing in the sling overhead. The instrument inside it was a temperamental beast at the best of times. It was going to be a mission to get it back into tune.

    1. The one thing I am learning (and trying out) is that the purpose of a sentence is to make you want to read the next. Thanks for stopping by, I will definitely run another snippet from this story next week.
